Testing is intensifying a month from the first appointment of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth, which will be held in Vallelunga, the week end of the 3rd of May. Three teams and eight drivers have been testing for two days, last 1-2 April.

Monza, 03/04/2015 – At the end of the two days testing, Prema, winner of the 2014 Championship with Lance Stroll, sees its drivers doing pretty well: great time set by the Estonian Ralf Aron, with 1’52.987, the only driver to go below 1’53.000, followed by the Cinese Zhou Guanyu, with 1’53.107. Third time in the Prema team set by the Brasilian Giuliano Raucci, with 1’53.849. In front of him the Australian Alex Peroni, of Torino Squadra Corse, with 1’53.790, while, from the same team but with the car of Israel F.4, Bar Baruch obtains the lap time of 1’54.721.

RB Racing has been present with all three drivers, even though Bertonelli has run only the first day with a good 1’54.732. The Pankiewicz twins are gaining confidence driving lap after lap, as they are still at their first tests with the Italian F.4. They have been constantly improving, but are still far from the fastest lap times. Wiki has set the time of 1’58.915 and Julia 1’59.176.

“We have had two positive testing days for all of our three drivers”, Grazia Troncon, Team Principal of Prema Powerteam, has commented. “Ralf Aron and Zhou Guaryu are further ahead with preparation as they have been racing in the Winter Series last year and also have been doing additional tests. Giuliano Gaucci has been running his second testing session after being at Mugello, so he is a little behind, but seems to be very promising. We will participate also to the first appointment of the German F.4, but our real interest and focus is on the Italian Championship. We will be also present in the testing sessions in Vallelunga and Monza in April.”

“We have been running with two cars and three drivers, since we have received the third car just recently from Tatuus and it will be ready next week in Vallelunga”, commented Marco Angeletti of RB Racing. “Diego Bertarelli for this reason has only been driving the first of the two days and I can say testing has been positive also regarding lap times. Julia and Wiki are continuing to practice to gain confidence with the car, as the tests they have been doing before Monza were on much slower tracks. Lap times of both are still high, but are improving constantly. Main gap from the other drivers is especially in the most critical parts of the track where a mistake can cause big damage to the car, as for example the split between the second of Lesmo and the Ascari. Also, physical preparation is being completed.”

“Testing has been extremely positive, especially with Alex Peroni, a very young driver who is constantly improving after just some testing last year and this year in Franciaciorta and Adria”, comments Marco Braghero, Team Principal of Torino Squadra Corse. “It is Alex’s first time driving in Monza and he was extremely fast both days, with used tires always at the top of the ranking. Final lap time difference has been determined mostly by the use of new or used tires, if compared with other drivers present at Monza”.

April 7-8 testing is planned in Vallelunga, while on the 14th-15th it will be in Mugello.
