Starting with Group B verses Group C, the poleman from yesterday's Series 1 Qualifying Mauricio Baiz made a perfect start to lead the field away and go on to win the 25 minute +1 lap race.
• Behind Baiz, Simone Cunati (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing) remained consistently 6 to 8 tenths of a second back, immediately tucked in behind was Joao Vieria (Antonelli Motorsport) who after 15 laps profited from an error by the Italian passing him to take second place on the podium. Fourth was Yan Shlom (RB Racing), fifth place was the winner of the Final at Misano`s season opener, Marcos Siebert (Jenzer Motorsport) followed by Dutchman Richard Verschoor (Bhaitech), Giuliano Raucci (Diegi Motorsport) was 7th, Federico Malvestiti (Antonelli Motorsport) 8th, Lorenzo Colombo (BVM Racing) 9th and Aldo Festante (Kfzteile24 Motorsport) rounding out the top 10.
• The Rookie Trophy was taken out by Simone Cunati, ahead of Richard Verschoor and Federico Malvestiti.
Fabienne Wohlwend (Aragon Racing) won the Women's Trophy.
• The driver who made the most passes in the race was Lorenzo Colombo, 9th at the chequered flag after starting out of grid 15. Great drives also from Yan Shlom (Bhaitech) from grid 9 to 4th and Riccardo Ponzio (Teramo Racing Team) from 19th to 14th.
• Race 2 (Group A verses Group B) will start at 17:00 with Raul Guzman on pole position.
