35 single-seaters took to the track in Imola for the first official tests of 2016

Less than 48 hours after the end of the weekend in Adria - second round of the season - Tuesday, 10 May, 35 single-seaters took part in the official test session at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Job Van Uitert was the fastest. 


 


 


Eight hours, divided into two sessions of four hours each, allowed the drivers and teams of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth to get used to the Imola circuit. There have been 35 vehicles, 15 teams, who have already completed the preparations (except for rain or a significant increase in temperatures) for the races that will take place the last weekend of May. 


 


The general ranking as of Tuesday 10 May sees Job Van Uitert (Jenzer Motorsport) in first place with 1'44"775, followed by Mick Schumacher (Prema Power Team) with 1'45"021; Marcos Siebert, the team mate of Van Uitert, Marcos Siebert, is in third place with 1'45"108. Fourth is Juri Vips and then Lorenzo Colombo, Diego Ciantini, Leonard Hoogenboom, Ian Rodriguez, Simone Cunati and Fabio Scherer.

With 70 rounds completed, Kikko Galbiati of Antonelli Motorsport was the busiest driver on the track. 66 laps for Federico Malvestiti and 64 for Sebastian Fernandez.  


 


The quickest of the morning was the Argentine Marcos Siebert of Jenzer Motorsport, leader in the overall championship standings. 44 laps for him and a best lap of 1'45"393 (with an average speed of 167.681 km/h). Behind him, in order, his teammate, Dutchman Job Van Uitert with 1'45"551 and the German Mick Schumacher of Prema Power Team with 1'45 "684. The top ten is completed by Kush Maini, Juri Vips, Giuliano Raucci, Ian Rodriguez, Diego Bertonelli Diego Ciantini and Valentin Hasse-Clot. The most active between 9 am and 1 pm was the Dutchman Leonard Hoogenboom, who covered 61 laps, totaling 299.5 km. 


 


 


In the round held from 2 pm to 6 pm, almost all the drivers lowered their performance by at least half a second and the 600 km covered by the drivers testify to the excellent level of reliability of the vehicles.


 


The Abarth engines will be started up again between 27 and 29 May for the racing weekend which, as anticipated, will be held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.
