The race started behind the Safety Car and in heavy rain and finished with a red flag on lap 9. Schumacher won the race ahead of Marcos Siebert and Job Van Uitert. Juan Manuel Correa and Kush Maini were second and third in the Rookie Trophy.

IMOLA  29 May, 2016 - After three laps behind the Safety Car which neccessitated so that the drivers could gain a correct feel for the conditions (remembering that during the Official Test starting May 10, it was a beautiful weekend with clear skies and warm temperatures), the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth came to life. However on the fourth lap, contact between various drivers along with a number of cars spinning off the circuit (including one incident with two cars at Curva Tosa) meant the Safety Car returned to the track.

* On lap 7 (when the Race was only 7 minutes + 1 lap away from finishing), the Safety Car returned to the pits.

The drivers were immediately back to speed, leaving Mick Schumacher  (Prema Power Team) to lead the field with a clear track out front as Marcos Siebert  (Jenzer Motorsport) passed Diego Bertonelli  (Bhaitech) at Variante who immediately responded retaking second place. Bertonelli was soon tp be penalised 25 seconds as his mechanics were still working on the car when the 5 minute board went up. Behind them the Dutchman Job Van Uitert passed the Chinese driver Ye Yifei of the Kfzteile24 Mucke Motorsport team to be immediately behind his team mate Siebert as he recorded the fastest lap of the race; 2:05.862. The Red Flag ultimately brought a premature end to the race on lap 9 when Giuliano Raucci spun off the circuit.

* Ye Yifei closed just missed the podium finishing ahead of Lorenzo Colombo  (BVM Racing), Raul Guzman (DR Formula), Devlin De Francesco  (Kfzteile24 Mucke Motorsport), Diego Ciantini (Jenzer Motorsport), Juan Manuel Correa (Prema Power Team) and Yan Shlom (RB Racing).

* Fabienne Wohlwend took another victory in the Women's Trophy.

* Race 3 (with a duration of 18 minutes + 1 lap) of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth is at 17:20 this afternoon. The complete results of Race 2 are available on acisportitalia.it/F4
