At the same circuit that will host the fourth round of the championship – from Friday July 15th to the 17th, 33 cars participated in the official test. The fastest time was recorded by Juri Vips of the Prema Power Team.

From 9:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 through to 18:00 on Wednesday July 13, 33 single-seaters lapped up the Circuit of Mugello, 48 hours prior to the weekend when the drivers will race at the same circuit. This therefore means that, with the exception of weather and track conditions on the day, drivers will be ready for the weekend thereby guaranteeing an extremely close and competitive event.

At the end of the 8 hour test, the Estonian Juri Vips, driving for the Prema Power Team was the fastest driver thanks to his time of 1:46.719. Finishing the day only just behind was his team-mate, the German Mick Schumacher with a 1:46.736. Third quickest was Diego Bertonello for the Bhaitech team with a 1:46.

863, followed by another Prema driver; Juan Manuel Correa with a 1:46.939. Fifth place overall with a time just above the 1:47 mark was Joao Vieira (Antonelli Motorsport) with a time of 1:47.056

Prema Power Team therefore confirmed their great results of the morning session which saw the Estonian Juri Vips first after 52 laps with his time of 1:46.719 followed by his team-mates Mick Schumacher and Juan Manuel Correa with 1:46.822 and 1:46.939 respectively. Fourth place for the Brasilian Joao Vieira of Antonelli Motorsport with a 1:47.056 followed by his compatriot Giuliano Raucci of Diegi Motorsport with 1:47.245. Completing the top ten were Diego Bertonelli (Bhaitech), Marcos Siebert (Jenzer Motorsport), Raul Guzman (DR Formula), Yan Shlom (RB Racing) and Ye Yifei (Kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport).

The fastest speed on the main straight during the afternoon session was recorded by Giacomo Altoè of the Bhaitech team, who hit 234.2 km/h. It is also worth noting that there was very little difference between the times recorded in the morning and afternoon sessions and those who did improve their times in the afternoon, only did so by a few tenths compared to the first session.

The engines will fire into life again on Friday July 15, again at the Mugello Circuit.
