These drivers will lead the field away in Race 1 (which is scheduled for tomorrow) and Race 2 (Sunday) respectively. Juri Vips and Ian Rodriguez were the fastest of the Rookie drivers.

The German Mick Schumacher (Prema Power Team) and the Argentine Marcos Siebert (Jenzer Motorsport) continued their good form on the Imola circuit, monopolizing the front row of the grid for Race 1 and Race 2, after they both won a race apiece when the championship raced here at the same circuit back in May, both drivers obtained a pole position for the penultimate round of the 2016 Italian F4 season powered Abarth. But not only did they take a pole position each, but Siebert was second in the first qualifying session when Schumacher took pole and Schumacher himself was second to Siebert when he took pole in the second session.

It promises to be a grand battle between these two drivers who are leading the championship (Siebert leading on 190 points with Schumacher second on 180 points). In third place on the grid in Race 1 will be the Dutchman Job Van Uitert (Jenzer Motorsport) followed by the Estonian Juri Vips (Prema Power Team), the Italian Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech), the Russian Artem Petrov (DR Formula), the Brazilian Giuliano Raucci  (Diegi Motorsport), the Guatemalan Ian Rodriguez (DRZ Benelli) and the Italians Simone Cunati (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing) and Diego Bertonelli (Bhaitech).

  • In Race 2, again on the second row of the grid will be Job Van Uitert on grid 3 ahead of Giuliano Raucci, Diego Bertonelli, Ian Rodriguez, Lorenzo Colombo, Juri Vips, Ye Yifei and Marino Sato.

  • Fabienne Wohlwend  (DR Formula) was ahead in the Women’s Trophy,  qualifying 28th in both sessions of qualifying.

  • The programme continues tomorrow, Saturday 24 September, with Race 1 (over a duration of 28 minutes + 1 lap) at 13:25. Races 2 and 3 will be held on Sunday at 9:30 and 16:30 respectively. The complete results of qualifying are available on acisportitalia.it/f4
