The teams and the drivers of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth are already training hard to get ready for the next season. Thursday 16 and Friday February 17, at the Misano World Circuit, Bhaitech, Cram Motorsport, DR Formula, JD Motorsport and Jenzer Motorsport went on track for a very intense two days of free (and unofficial) practice.

Bhaitech is very happy for the performance of the Venezuelan Sebastian Fernandez, first with his time of 1’34”407, almost one second quicker than the fastest lap of the 2016 race (Juri Vips, 1’35”348). Second place for the Dutch of Cram Motorsport, Leonard Hogenboom, which is the driver that has completed more laps: 278 in only two days.

Third place for the Italian Aldo Festante (DR Formula) with 1’34”748.

Talking about the rookies, a very good feeling with the car has been put on track by the Italian Leonardo Lorandi of Bhaitech: the 16 years old guy is fifth with 1’34”933, very close to his teammate Lorenzo Colombo, fourth in 1’34”779. Another rookie is the Brasilian Felipe Branquinho, driving for DR Formula: almost 200 laps for him and a very good improvement from the 1’37"359 of Thursday morning to the 1’35"580 of Friday afternoon.

Not only is the lap time what matters in this kind of practices, but the chance to improve the tuning of the suspension and the right pressure for the tyres. For the drivers, these days spent driving their singleseaters have a huge significance because allow them to get more confident with the car and with its response to the modifications on the suspension, aerodynamics, etc.. Last but not least, the Misano World Circuit will debut the 2017 season of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth on Sunday April 2.
