Fittipaldi is the fastest in the first qualifying session, Lonardi in the second with the fastest overall time
21/04/2018 – Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Theodore Racing) and Leonardo Lorandi (Bhai Tech Racing) conquer first and second pole position of the two qualifying sessions of the first appointment of 2018 Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth. Lorandi sets the absolute best lap time with 1’15”016 in qualifying 2, while Fittipaldi sets an excellent 1’15”163 in qualifying 1. Timed sessions for the definition of the starting grids are always very battled and see this time 18 and 24 drivers within less than one second, respectively in the first and second session. Federico Malvestiti (Jenzer Motorsport) obtains an excellent second position in qualifying 1 with 1’15”207, while third is Gianluca Petecof (Prema Theodore Racing), the only driver in the Rookie Trophy to be able to enter the podium of one of the two qualifying sessions. In qualifying 2 second best lap time is set by poleman of session 1, Enzo Fittipaldi, who confirms his strength with 1’15”215, while Grégoire Saucy (Jenzer Motorsport), best lap time on Friday Free Sessions, is third with 1’15”233. Tomorrow the three races will start at 9:00, race 1, 13:00 race 2 and 17:00 race 3. The starting grid of the first race (28’ + 1 lap) will be based on the best time reached by each driver in the first qualifying session. The starting grid of the second third race (28’ + 1 lap) will be based on the best time reached by each driver in the second qualifying session. The starting grid of the Third Race (28 '+ 1 lap) will be based on the second best time reached by each driver in any of the two rounds of qualifying.
