Vallelunga - 15/09/2018 – A show that only the Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth can give, with amazing battles in race 1 at Vallelunga. Olli Caldwell (Prema Theodore Racing) is great in keeping first position from pole and, with two launched restarts due to safety car, holding it along the entire race.
At the start Caldwell is attacked, with no success, by teammate Enzo Fittipaldi, when in the meantime Leonardo Lorandi battles with Petr Ptacek (both Bhai Tech Racing), who spins, leaving free space to his teammate. Edoardo Morricone is out of track a few moments later and Safety Car enters tarck. At the restart Lorandi attacks Fittipaldi with an amazing manoeuvre (Ricciardo style), and overtakes the driver from Prema. Still, in the following turns a group made by Lorandi, Fittipaldi and Gregoire Saucy (Jenzer Motorsport) comes into contact, stopping definitely the Italian, while the Swiss and the Brazilian are relegated in the back positions.
In the meantime Caldwell keeps the lead, while Gianluca Petecof and Federico Malvestiti take advantage of the battles to conquer final 2° and 3° position. Petecof will be first of Rookie classification, followed by Umberto Laganella (Cram Motorsport) and Niklas Krutten (Muecke Motorsport).
Fittipaldi manages an amazing recover and manages to conquer final 8th position, but Leonardo Lorandi, who gains 0 points, is still first in the championship with 12 points advantage from the Brazilian. Olli Caldwell with + 25 points strengthens his 3rd position in the general standings (178 pts) and “sees” Fittipaldi (227 pts).
